Patrick and I just returned from a few days in heaven–soaking in hotsprings in Pagosa Springs, Colorado. Yesterday was our 4th wedding anniversary, and we spent it driving thru those dramatic Rockies with golden aspens spilling down every which way from the mountain tops. It was the kind of day when we just kept yelling out “OH MY GOD!” because really, what else is there to yell when such profound beauty is thrown at you over and over?

On our drive home, we had the perfect picnic in a meadow with a creek running thru it and a family of cottonwood trees dropping leaves on us–just like the day we got married in El Rito. Ever since I was little I wanted to live in the mountains. My mom used to say, “Jenny, some day you’ll marry a wonderful man who will take you to the mountains.” Moms are always right…

I feel so blessed to be married to him. He is my best friend who I share everything with– including every idea and story and picture I make. (He wins the super-duper patience award because some days I have a lot to share.) He entertains me, helps me, inspires me, comforts me, and he scratches my back every morning! He makes me feel rare in all the world. I feel like our life together is perfect, but it keeps getting richer and fuller–of grace, that is.

Happy Anniversary Patrick!
I love loving you!

Here’s just a few pics from the road…
